Girls Travel Hockey

The Tri-City Eagles travel program is a USA Hockey Tier II program planning to field 4 girls travel teams from the 12U through the 19U age levels for the 2018-19 season. All teams play in the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League ( with home games played at The Gardens Ice House in Laurel, Maryland.

2018-19 age classifications are listed to the right on this page. Players with birth years from 2000-2006 are eligible for one of the travel teams.

Once tryouts are complete and teams are formed in early May, travel teams may play a few non-league games prior to the start of the season. Season practices officially begin in mid-August and league play at the start of October. For most teams the season is complete by early to mid-March once CBHL playoffs are complete.

All Tri-City teams play their home games on Saturday and Sunday at The Gardens Ice House. All other travel is based upon where the competitors in each division are located and where tournaments are chosen to be played.

Girls team practices will begin mid-August and continue through early March. All teams will practice at The Gardens Ice House twice weekly. Skills clinics are available at no additional cost throughout the season.

Game counts will be finalized once the CBHL schedule has been formed. We expect our teams to play 18-25 games in total. Attendance for all games is considered mandatory. Failure to attend games can result in reduced ice time in future games. Advance notice of games that will be missed is required. Tournament options are provided by the club to the team. Typically there are 3-4 tournaments (depending on the age group) with at least one played locally. Additional tournaments and other team activities may be planned and added throughout the year based on a majority vote among the team parents.

Tri-City travel teams have a uniform consisting of a home and away jersey, a pants shell and one pair of socks. Tri-City warm-ups and bags are also required for each player. New to Tri-City players are given a bag their first season with the club. White helmets are encouraged, but not required. Jersey numbers from 1-98 are chosen by the player based upon seniority and ensuring no duplication among age levels above and below. Available numbers will be communicated to the player at the time of his/her choosing. Tri-City does not believe in player names being placed on jerseys. This is a club tradition built upon the game being a team effort.
