COVID-19 and Tryout Update

Tri City Eagles Players and Families,

We hope this finds you and your families safe and healthy. We do have updated information to provide.

Right Now:

PVAHA has suspended all Tier I, Tier II/Travel tryouts. The situation is under constant evaluation and tryouts will be rescheduled as soon as safe and logical to do so. Until new 2020–2021 Season tryout dates are announced by PVAHA, no association or teams shall have any player or parent execute any agreement or contract for the 2020–2021 season. Basically, no associations are allowed to offer roster positions for the upcoming season prior to tryouts. Here is the current statement from PVAHA.

The Gardens Ice House, along with all other rinks within PVAHA, remains closed.

Moving Forward:

Q. When will tryouts be rescheduled?

A. This is a very fluid situation and we will depend on our affiliate for direction. The PVAHA board of directors will continue to monitor Federal and State restrictions and recommendations and reschedule 2020–2021 tryouts as soon as possible.

Q. Can we still register for tryouts?

A. Yes. Our registration link is still available. Tryouts will take place; it is just a question of when. For those who have already registered, your tryout position is secure.

Q. How do we stay sharp and prepared for tryouts?

A. Based on information received from PVAHA, they are likely to build a period of time between announcing tryouts and the actual tryout dates. This will create a window for players to get on the ice in preparation for tryouts. As that evolves, Tri City will look to be active in providing quality opportunities for players to train. Also, you should all have received information on various off-ice and dryland training options. These are just sources to help you stay creative and motivated. Finally, we are launching our own #HockeyAtHome challenge, encouraging our players and families to post and interact on social media. More specific information will be provided in the very near future.

Please let us know if there are additional questions we can address.

Again, as the situation evolves, we will share information through our website and social media, and email when necessary.

With our thanks,

Robert Trantin and The Tri City Eagles Board
